Last week I introduced the idea of the 15 second trailer. (Here’s the link to the post if you missed it)
This week’s mini-trailer is a little comedy bit I built. It started off as this still picture meme…
but out of nowhere I started messing with elements moving around. Before I knew it I was adding music and sound effects.
This was a TON of work, because it is essentially stop-motion photography. Hey, I’m learning. And having fun while I do it!
I really have no idea where I was going with this. FIRE IN THE WOODS is not a comedy… I guess I was just in a quirky mood.
Wonderful, Jennifer. You are very talented and computer savvy. I’m not on instagram, but I wanted you to know how much I enjoyed watching the computer graphics. Great job!
Thanks Victoria!
Cute!!
That’s so cool! You’re amazing!
I think it gets your point across that the female lead is swept away by the alien lover. Rather than the existing music, that does give it a comic tone, you could do helicopter sounds or such.
I agree. The idea can be reworked without the comedic flavor. I think you’re on to something: explosion, girl meets boy, running running, goodbye. You’ll manage it! 🙂
It could just be my interpretation, but those arrows look very phallic. So when the aliens abduct the girls, the boys arrow goes limp. Hmmmm.
I think the trailer should mimic the tone of the book, so while it’s very fun and cool to play around with these techniques for the sake of learning, I wouldn’t do a bate and switch on your readers. 😀
Absolutley. I did post this, but with a disclsimer that it was just for fun and not meant to convey that the book was a comedy.
