Maya dreams of perfect skin, beautiful hair, good grades, and Eric Brighton—the boy she’s been crushing on since middle school. No matter how hard she tries, all these things elude her, but when a creepy college recruiter arrives with news that Maya has omnipotent powers, things change quickly.

Having everything she wants is a lot harder than Maya expects, though. Will she give it all up for the chance to be normal again, even if it means losing Eric?

Holy Smoke! 1,000 Followers? How about a givaway?

Today my Web Site hit 1,000 direct followers. That’s 1,000 people who have logged in here through WordPress and hit the “follow” button.

My handy-dandy little stats calculator now tells me almost 7,500 people follow this blog through different outlets.  That is incredibly cool, and a little humbling.

Unbelievable.

I know that’s nothing compared to some other sites, but for this little author, I think it’s huge.

Thanks so much everyone for reading and participating. It means a lot when I see your cheery avatars, and you make it interactive.

And A big old Alligator “Hi and thanks” to everyone who reads my rantings faithfully through email and streaming, but choose not to comment.  I appreciate you as well!

I’m glad everyone gets something out of all this, even if it is only a little chuckle now and then.

Anyway… to celebrate, how about an impromptu giveaway?

It’s Release Day For My Book Paper Wishes! Wahoo!

I am super excited to announce the release of my sweet romance “Paper Wishes”

I have to admit that this feels a little weird in August because it’s Winter in the world of “Paper Wishes”, but what better way to cool down then cuddling up on the beach with a book that makes you think of snow!

Paper Wishes FinalPaper wishes is about a single mother who writes down a wish on a piece of paper, but quickly forgets about it.  Funny thing about wishes.  They have a way of coming true even if you’ve forgotten about them, and when her best friend Jack makes a wish that might tear them apart, a little girl’s completely unrelated wish could bring them all together… if their wishes can be twisted to make them all come true.

This theme may seem familiar because “Paper Wishes” was originally published under the name “Jack and Jill”.  The title was not picked up when Still Moments Publishing was purchased by White Rose Press.

I am thrilled that Astraea Press loved the story as much as I did, and “Paper Wishes” has been completely revamped and tightened for a brand new audience.

And at the bargain price of $0.99 I’m hoping everyone will take a chance on my little gem.

Some Great News! I have a New Release Coming. Yay!

Firstly, I’m being interviewed today over at Georgie Tyler’s blog.  Hop on over and visit! http://www.georgietyler.com/2012/12/say-hi-to-author-jennifer-eaton.html

Annnnnnddddd………………….

I’m interrupting this blog tour for “Make Believe” and “For the Love of Christmas” with some exciting news!

A while ago I announced that my story “Test of Faith” was accepted by Still Moments Publishing.

Well, It gets even better!

A Test of Faith is going to be combined with the re-release of my “Connect the Dots” as a Novella called “Jack and Jill, Volume One”.

Did you catch that?  VOLUME ONE!

I pitched the idea of following these characters through the tremulous first year in a relationship, and Still Moments liked the idea, so you will get to see more of these characters as their relationship progresses.

Yay1!

And for even more fun… Here is the Cover Reveal!

Jack and Jill, Volume One will be available on January 22!

What do you think of the cover?

Yay! A New Cover Reveal! For the Love of Christmas

It’s here! The brandy-spanking-new, fresh-off-the-press… well, sort of… cover for the new Christmas Anthology featuring my story “Connect the Dots.”

Isn’t this festive?

For the Love of Christmas books in hand

Doesn’t that just make ya wanna start singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman? Or my personal favorite …

I’m Mister White Christmas
I’m Mister Snow
I’m Mister Icicle
I’m Mister Ten Below
Friends call me Snow Miser,
What ever I touch
Turns to snow in my clutch
I’m too much!

I’m Mister Green Christmas
I’m Mister Sun
I’m Mister Heat Blister
I’m Mister Hundred and One
They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch
I’m too much!

Everybody sing with me!

Okay, well… maybe not, but how about that cover? Sparkly, huh?

The Proper (and easy!) way to Market your Novel #4 – The dreaded Public Appearance

Alright, we’ve talked about not marketing your novel… instead, marketing yourself.  How do you do that?  By being nice.

(Check out the last few Friday posts if you’re just jumping in.)

Okay, so it’s all well and good doing this over the internet… but what about those public appearances?

We can all be nice, that’s not too hard.  Getting out there in front of people… that is hard.  But when you do, just remember that you don’t need to shove your novel in people’s faces.

Just smile pretty.  Answer questions.  Be yourself.

If you are a scared, timid writer, invent a new character who is outgoing and friendly… and be that person for a little while. (It’s called acting).

In the end, the connections you make will sell your work.  The connections you make will lead to “word of mouth”.  And you never know when you will be nice to someone, and they will help you out.

Remember Ed Griffis?  After my post on his novel, dozens of my followers re-tweeted it.  It’s the Twitter snowball effect.   His Kindle rating jumped.  Pretty cool, huh?  I’m not saying that is all because of my post.  Maybe it was just a coincidence. (There is a lot that goes into your Amazon rating.  It not only has to do with your sales, but everyone else’s too.)  But if you guys did all run out and buy his book, that’s great… and you found out about it because the author was “nice” to me for a little while.

Easy self-promotion, right?
Market yourself.  Not your novel.

Smile pretty at everyone.

You never know who you might meet.

By the way… thanks for stopping by.

It’s great to meet you!  🙂
